Gudgeon – Fitted to the earlier UK built Tasars

This is the nylon/plastic gudgeon that was originally fitted to the Tasar’s built in the UK . The same gudgeon is used top & bottom.

Later Tasars were fitted with a stainless steel gudgeon with the rudder retaining clip mounted on the top gudgeon resulting in the upper & lower gudgeons being different.

See:   Tasar, Hull fittings, Gudgeon – Fitted to the later UK built boats

The hole spacing is:

~2″ (51.9mm) between the inner pair of holes.

4 3/8″ (110.9mm) between the outer pair of holes.

Due to changes in the builders over the years with some boats being built in the UK & others imported it is not possible to say with certainty exactly which boats had these fitted as original equipment.

NB The Tasar class rules are a little odd in that they allow the builders to be able to fit different equipment but as an owner you cannot choose so it is probably easiest to replace like with like without clarification from the class measurer. (Whilst this may seem like a strange rule this was done to allow builders to fit locally sourced equipment & thereby contain costs.)
