Description

Furling hook

Used on the: Pico, Funboat & Bug

This is the hook that is stitched onto the clew board of the sail.

It is used when the mainsail has been rolled up around the mast to secure the sail sufficiently to prevent it becoming unrolled when:

  1. Derigging the boat but leaving the sail on the mast.
  2. In storage when leaving the sail on the mast.
  3. During a break in sailing when conditions are moderate enabling the sail to be simply & quickly rolled around the mast reducing risk & extending the life of the sail.

The flat of the hook is relatively soft plastic & holes can be made with a sailmakers  needle, sailmakers awl or drilled.
