The stainless steel ring will not deform, the Dynema webbing does not stretch but slides easily along the boom.
The velcro makes rigging & adjusting to the conditions of the day easy whilst remaining securely in place.

NB This clew strap tends to work better & last longer if it is kept flat. So it is better to attach the foot retractor tc the clew cringle & not the clew strap.
