Centerboard / Daggerboard, Stop set (Soft) – Laser

The Laser’s Daggerboard (also referred to as a Centerboard) is required to be fitted with a “Stop set” in order to comply with class rules.

The rule is intended to prevent:
1) The Centerboard/Daggerboard slipping down in the case & either becoming lost or causing damage.
2) To prevent a greater area of Centerboard/Daggerboard being utilised & thus perhaps an advantage being gained.

Supplied in black with black rubber over moulded stoppers which helps protect the deck from damage by the harder plastic “Stop set”, fitted to many daggerboards, on the occasions they are lowered harder than intended.

The two parts are secured by a screw.

To fit:
1) Align the two halves through the hole to fit the aerofoil shape of the daggerboard/centerboard.
2) Press firmly together.
3) Fit screw by tightening firmly enough for the screw head to just fit into the countersunk recess but do not overtighten.
