Centerboard / Daggerboard case wear pad – Laser

The wear pad is limited by class rules to a size of:   30mm x 30mm x 2mm.
This is to prevent it being extended to pack out the case & limit movement of the centerboard/daggerboard which is not permitted.
It is intended to fit in the middle of the top of the front of the centerboard case at the point  where contact by the centerboard frequently causes unsightly wear.

Although it is intended to be a wear pad by choosing the right material it can also double as a friction pad to assist in preventing unintended movement of the daggerboard/centerboard.
With a suitable combination of a daggerboard/centerboard wear pad, a friction pad & a shock cord retention system it can be arranged that the daggerboard/centerboard stays where it is placed but its position can still be relatively easily adjusted.

This wear pad is 30mm x 25mm & self adhesive.

To fit:
Clean area with acetone, apply wear pad taking care the shorter measurement is vertical, it is horizontal & central. Press firmly into place & trim off top corners

It is better not to sail immediately after fitting but leave it a day for the glue to cure.
